Hector M. Bush DMD
Dr. Bush started Orthodontic Care of Georgia (OCG) with two practices, one and Macon and one in Columbus. Today the practice consists of 17 practices throughout Central and North Georgia and includes an office in Tacoma, WA.
Dr. Bush is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine. After earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD), he completed his General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvanian where he received a certificate in general dentistry. Dr. Bush earned the two-year Certificate in Orthodontic and completed his Graduate Orthodontic Residency at Howard University Dental School.
Dr. Bush commitment to serve those in the community who are less fortunate and needed assistance in order to gain access to orthodontic care, has never wavered. Through the Share a Smile Program which he established, he has partnered with various organizations to donate orthodontic treatment to deserving children in almost every community in Georgia. He has partnered with the Methodist Home in Macon, the Beatrice Carey Steel Pitts Orphanage in Atlanta, Congressman Jim Maddox in S.W. Atlanta, and Dr. E. T. Walton in Bibb, Jones Houston, and Twiggs Counties, as well as the Ryan Cameron Foundation.
Dr. Bush had the honor of renaming The Share a Smile Program to The Dr. Andrew Young Sr. Share a Smile Program in of honor Dr. Andrew Young Sr., who practiced dentistry in Atlanta for over 60 years. This program is now available to the children at the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA. An on-going partnership initially formed with Ryan Cameron Foundation that provides charitable orthodontic treatment to 10 students every two years. Dr. Bush received the Metro Atlanta YMCA 2010 Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of his involvement in the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA. As an Alumnus of Howard University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Bush raised funding, for the dental school to complete renovations of their orthodontic clinic. Dr Bush was awarded the 2016 annual Community Service Award by the Henry Country Fraternal Order of the Police, Lodge #95.
Annual scholarships have been established by Dr. Bush, who has partnered with following associations: Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA, the DeKalb Fraternal Order of the Police, Santa Cops Program, the Scholarship program, Georgia Dental Society; Warner Robins Alumni Chapter of The Delta Sigma Theta. and the Henry County Police Association.
Currently, Dr. Bush serves as Chairman of the Scholarship Committee of the Georgia Dental Society. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA, a member of American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and the North Georgia Dental Society
