Types of Braces
Orthodontic Care of Georgia offers the following types of braces to our patients in the Atlanta Metro area, Columbus, Macon, and Athens.
Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most widely used type of braces. They are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment. Unlike the metal braces of the past, today’s metal braces are small, more comfortable and more attractive.
Clear Braces
Ceramic braces or clear braces are made of composite material. They are more often chosen by adult patients because they “blend in” with your teeth. Common drawbacks with the clear braces involve the ligatures (tiny rubber bands) that hold the arch wire to the brackets and the ceramic brackets itself, which can on occasion become stained due to diet.
Invisalign
Invisalign are “braces” that consist of strong plastic trays that are fabricated especially for you. Invisalign is for adult and teenage patients that have moderate orthodontic problems. Invisalign is truly invisible; no one will know that you are wearing braces.
